Genara Cristina Necos

Genara Cristina Necos is a civil rights attorney practicing in New York City. Genara has published two poetry chap books, Invasions of the Heart and The Swans in Hyde Park. The poems are set in contrasting parts of the world, to celebrate unity across geographic, economic, class, religious and racial borders. Recently she has conducted research in Cuba, Ghana, and Nigeria for a longer piece about Cuban returnees to West Africa in the 19th century. She is currently working on a book of essays about what is revealed about relationships during travel. The book is comprised of her travel experiences in West Africa, the Middle East, North America and the Caribbean. She is the mother of a charming young man on the autism spectrum. She lives in the Bronx where she grew up.
